Novi Vinodolski is a leading tourist destination and an important port in the Kvarner region. The town is located at the mouth of the river Ricina, 9 km south of Crikvenica.
Novi Vinodolski has beaches with excellent facilities, a clean sea, lush vegetation and a rich cultural and historical heritage. Its beaches are known for their clean sand and for the dense pine forest above them. The coastline and beaches have been developed since 1878. You can enjoy a stroll through the cobblestone streets of the town, among the charming villas.
Accommodations include hotels, a few resorts, campgrounds and private apartments. There are many sports fields and recreational facilities, such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
The local restaurants allows you to discover or rediscover Mediterranean specialties. The town’s economy is based on agriculture, wine growing, fishing and tourism. There are many cultural and entertainment events held in the city throughout the year.
Cultural events include the winter carnival in January and February, the celebration of St. Philip and St. James, the patron saints of the city, held in May, and the summer carnival in August. The port is well equipped and can receive all types of boats. Yachts can be moored on the inner side of the pier (the water is 2.7 meters deep).
We recommend several visits in Novi Vinodolski, such as the National Library and its museum, or the old Frankopan castle with its 4,000 historical pieces. If you want to go further, you can organize an excursion to the island of San Marino located in front of the city and why not, trips to the surrounding towns of Crikvenica, Selce and Klenovica.
